NEEDS...
A Poor Portrait - Some startling numbers tell the true story of the poverty in San Joaquin County... One out of every six San Joaquin County residents was living in poverty at the dawn of the 21st century! Recent demographic reports trace poverty rates over the past 30 years. They have risen consistently! The challenges of affordable housing, academic achievement, adequate diet and good healthcare are greater than ever. The County of Government points out that Stockton has the majority of the county's residents living in poverty: 58.8 percent.
OUR STRATEGY...
Drop In Center - A center where we offer weekly food distribution and conduct one-on-one personal needs assistance. A caring program that provides for the disadvantaged in our area.
On Call Line - Provides basic life necessities to local homeless and low income people in San Joaquin County.
OUR MISSION...
To care about people who may fall through the cracks in our local government assistant programs. To hear the cry of those who are hurting. To be the hands of Jesus and to show the love of God, in a supportive Christian environment. It is our prayer that through Hands of Hope fewer people will be hungry when they go to bed tonight.
CONTRIBUTIONS...
Contributions of food may be made at The Home Church office weekly Monday-Thursday, 8 AM - 5 PM, and Fridays 8 AM - 12 PM or at any of the public services on Sunday. Financial contributions are also accepted. There is no reason that anyone in our community should be cold or go hungry.
HOURS OF OPERATION...
Thursdays, 10 AM - 12 PM. You may also call if there are specific needs after hours. Hands of Hope Food Pantry is a ministry of The Home Church in Lodi.
